My Christmas tree is a mix of ornaments from my childhood and ones from later on in my life. Many of them are related to my favorite fandoms, naturally. I thought I would showcase one every other day in December in a 12 Days of Fandom Ornaments series.
Made for me for a swap, this features Marvel comics, especially one of my favorite characters: Wolverine. It, also, looks fantastic when backlit. I love that each side is a continuation of the panels, like it’s a complete picture.

Thoughts: I certainly do have “unique abilities.” This was such a fun quiz! I don’t know Killer Frost too well, but I think she fits me better than many of the other possibilities. And blue is definitely my color.
I just realized I forgot to write a Top Ten list this week! Oops! Better late than never. The topic of this list was suggested by one of my blog followers (thanks so much).
These are fandom shirts I have purchased from Shirt Woot. I don’t buy a lot from there lately (TeeFury gets most of my business lately, because they email me with their t-shirts daily), but I do have some from this company by various artists. I suspect I will do other posts of this sort in the future. I’ve got a shirt-buying problem. LOL

Quiz: Which Batman Ally Are You?

Thoughts: At first I didn’t see the resemblance and was ready to protest. But once I read the description, it’s actually not too bad of a fit. I rather like this result. I still think I’d make a better Alfred though 
Despite the fact that Batman is my favorite superhero, I’m definitely a Marvel girl. Marvel characters are my kind of people. Marvel stories are ones I can relate to. Marvel’s world is my world.
However, I get my Marvel where I can– various movies, comics and graphic novels I come across at used book sales or on deep discount at comic book stores, various cartoon TV show versions, various graphic novels I find at the library. Because of this, I don’t have a very good mental picture of the various Marvel universes or their timelines. Everything is all mixed up in my brain.
I know just enough to know that I don’t know very much. I have big gaps in my knowledge that sometimes cause me “oohhhh!” light bulb moments of realization when those gaps get filled in… and sometimes cause me massive amounts of confusion and guilt. I figured this might be a great source of laughter for those of you with more knowledge than me (which is practically everyone) and a way for me to come clean. Feel free to try to explain things to me. But, more helpful, would be a list of comics/episodes that would let me properly fill in the gaps. I’ve tried Wikis and they leave me with more questions than answers.
For the month of April, I’m breaking out of my usual “format” and showcasing one of my favorite fandoms a day, so I will have shiny things to make me smile every day of my birthday month. When I sat down to write the list of my top 30 fandoms, I found the task terribly hard. How do I choose just 30? My apologies to all my beloved fandoms left off the list. I’m using random.org to determine what fandom gets what day.
