Here’s what I did with my Doctor Who stamps. Originally, I had the sonic screwdriver inside the frame with it… but then I realized that didn’t give me quick access to it if I need to use it. So now it lives on top.

I had some Hot Topic “Hot Cash” to spend, and these new POP figures were too adorable to resist. I mean, seriously, Snape doesn’t get much cuter than this.
I got this beautiful print from Colorworld Books’ bookfair exhibit space at the AWP conference this year. I had such a hard time deciding what to choose (so much fandom goodness!) but this one spoke to me, so I went with it. I recently put it up on the wall of my craft room. Its title is “Wendy and Hermione whip out their Patronus.” Garrett Richert, artist for their third book (I still have the first book on Mt. TBR) illustrated Hermione and Wendy, Rachel E. Kelly’s book character, each conjuring a patronus. I love the idea of tying fandom loves in with original characters. Way to go, Colorworld Books!
Now how much do I want their print of Deadpool drinking herbal tea? SO MUCH!
I spotted this four-pack of fantasy movies at Walmart last week in the $5 bin and couldn’t resist buying it. I’ve never seen Neverwas, but it’s got a great cast (Ian McKellen, William Hurt, Jessiva Lange, Alan Cumming, and more) so I think it’ll be worth a watch some day. And Pinocchio has always kind of creeped me out, but I might give it a try eventually.
I saw A Wrinkle in Time on TV when it first came out. It didn’t measure up to my mental image of the book from my childhood, but it did have Dr. David from Queer as Folk, and that’s good enough for me 🙂
But I really bought this DVD for The Neverending Story III. I have only seen that movie once. And I believe that one time was in German on a VHS copy of something LONG before it was ever released in the US. I know it’s nothing close to as magical as the first movie or even the second. But as I own those on DVD, I definitely jumped at the chance to own the third and final in the trilogy. I look forward to watching it for the first time in English!
Is it possible to honeymoon (play on repeat with obsessive love) just a single song and not seem crazy? I’ve loved this song about Settlers of Catan and life when I heard Sarah sing it in concert last year and, finally, it’s available for purchase online! Kristen S. found it for me in part of one of the Doubleclicks’ livestream concerts (Halloween 2014) but downloading it is a much more convenient way of enjoying it. Plus I always like being able to support the people who make songs that make me so happy!
I’ve only played Settlers of Catan a few times (the first time in college, many many moons ago) and I thought I was the only one single-mindedly in love with building the longest road to the detriment of the rest of my strategy. Not only is there a song about it now, but it’s an amazing and beautiful song (metaphor!).
The Longest Road by Sarah Donner
So you head to the hills and the forest, but still
You’re just building the longest road
The mountains are far,
but you know where you are
When you’re starting the longest road
Last month, I caved and bought myself some Always Keep Fighting apparel in support of Jared & Jensen’s charity initiative. I know, I know, I’m not supposed to buy more shirts.
So I bought a hoodie instead. A moose & squirrel hooded sweatshirt that supports worthy causes? That’s a win-win. I mean, it’s a Supernatural hoodie! Perfection.
It arrived today and I put it on straight out of the package. It’s so warm and soft, I almost never want to take it off.
