Another catch at the 50th Anniversary event.
I love that this one also has the NASA logo; how appropriate!

I just realized I forgot to write a Top Ten list this week! Oops! Better late than never. The topic of this list was suggested by one of my blog followers (thanks so much).
Quiz: Which Sherlock Character Are You?
Answer: John Watson

You have an unusual yin-yang: you balance a normal life devoted to helping people with a surprising yearning for danger and difficulty. You seek out people who are suffering, and do your best to help them, and you are the self-appointed protector of your close circle of family and friends. Basically quiet and reserved, you rely on that circle to provide you with both steady, reliable love and companionship and regular walks on the wild side.
Thoughts: Awww. I can’t say I’m sad about this. I was actually expecting to get Molly Hooper, so I’m frankly surprise as well as thrilled. Except Danger and I are pretty much strangers. But I hope that I’m there for my friends the way John is for his. My friends definitely draw me out though, so there is that. I just haven’t helped diffuse any bombs lately.
These are fandom shirts I have purchased from Shirt Woot. I don’t buy a lot from there lately (TeeFury gets most of my business lately, because they email me with their t-shirts daily), but I do have some from this company by various artists. I suspect I will do other posts of this sort in the future. I’ve got a shirt-buying problem. LOL
Pinterest has, for some reason, been sending me emails of boards I might like to follow… that have subjects I don’t have any interest in: make-up, fashion, cooking, summer beach fun, travel, etc.
Frequently, they send me great board recommendations, many of them geek-related, though none as spot-on as this particular email I just received that made me laugh:
Haha! Pinterest knows what I’m looking for now. I forgive it for the boring emails it has sent in the past. This makes up for it.
One of my favorite memories from Mario Marathon this year was playing Cards Against Humanity with some of the fellow viewers. I won the first game I played and was 7 points above everyone else in the second game before many others eclipsed me and I lost. It was so much fun (the game definitely depends on who you’re playing with, and they were a damn fun bunch).
For those who don’t know, CAH is a game where you have a subject/statement (black card) and you pick the best fill for that using one of the (white) cards in your hand. If played correctly, the game is raunchy and naughty and hilariously wrong and as politically incorrect as possible. People say it’s an adult version of Apples to Apples but I’ve never played Apples to Apples so I have no idea.
Anyway, there were some great moments, like when I was card czar and suggested my anti-drug be a certain Harry Potter fanfiction card and someone wrote it in as one of the blanks. Win! Another time, I was forced to choose between Star Wars and Star Trek… I ended up choosing a different card altogether. Also, there was LOTS of elf ***.
But this was my favorite moment, even though it made me tear up a little… and I’m going to put it behind a cut because CAH can get explicit, though I don’t see anything too “wrong” with this one. The question was: What’s there a ton of in heaven?

Quiz: Which Doctor Are You?

Answer: Congratulations! You’re the Tenth Doctor

The good news is, people seem to really like you. You’re kind and generous and warm company, and you’re never short of the right thing to say in a difficult moment.
However, you’ve been through some fairly tough times, and it can sometimes feel like all of this affection is just raining down and the bouncing back off your defences.
You put on a brave face, but sometimes that feeling of isolation can be hard to bear.
It’s just as well you have some amazing friends to help you deal with it.
Thoughts: I didn’t expect this at all! I was thinking I’d get, maybe, One. But this description of Ten (my favorite doctor) is actually pretty accurate. And I love my friends for being there for me 🙂
I came home on Monday this week to see this on the sidewalk under the archway about a foot and a half from the side of my house:
Two possibilities exist:
1. one of the neighbors’ kids is filled with awesome and decided to choose the sidewalk outside my house to decorate with awesome just by coincidence
or
2. the doctor visited my neighborhood and documented the adventures he had with a dalek, the TARDIS, and, apparently, a long pole
Both possibilities, while not equally likely, are pretty cool, honestly. Yay for artistic geeks sharing the happy with the rest of us! Also, the best part of this is that it’s drawn under the archway, so it’s not going to go away unless we have a seriously hard rainstorm with lots of wind and flooding. So I’ve been enjoying walking past the TARDIS every day to & from work this week. Fantastic!
Give me a TARDIS any day, but this list is just for muggle vehicles.
Quiz: What Star Trek Species Are You?
Answer: Vulcan
You Are Vulcan, You prefer to be alone and learn. You rarely show people what you are feeling. You understand that things take time. Safety is something that usally passes your mind, but you don’t always follow it

Thoughts: Given the options, I certainly don’t hate this outcome. I feel I’m in excellent company. However, I’m a little worried that I scored so high on Romulan and Borg. Funny how cold logic can be used for evil as easily as good.
