12 Days of Fandom Ornaments: #4

My Christmas tree is a mix of ornaments from my childhood and ones from later on in my life. Many of them are related to my favorite fandoms, naturally. I thought I would showcase one every other day in December in a 12 Days of Fandom Ornaments series.

Day 4: Why Are There Polar Bears?

Ornament04-02

One of my swap partners made me this awesome LOST-inspired ornament of a polar bear with a fish treat.

Day 3: Snowman!Harry

Ornament03-02

This is one of several handmade Harry Potter ornaments I bought from Justin Finch Fletchley a few years back at a Yule Ball in Washington, D.C. (and I realize that if you don’t know anything about WRock, that sentence must be confusing, but it’s the truth). All the ornaments feature fun Harry Potter-related drawings; this one is a snowman decorated to look like Harry… or perhaps Harry has been magically transformed into a snowman?

Day 2: Starfleet Academy

Ornament02-02

To remember my days in the academy fondly, one of my swap partners sent me this awesome, soft Starfleet Academy ornament.

Day 1: Soft Kitty

Ornament01-02

As a cat lover, I couldn’t resist this ornament. The only down side is that I often find myself singing the song after passing by my tree.

It’s Now the Future!

Watch out for those flying cars today, because we’re suddenly living the future!

That is, this is the exact day Marty and Doc go to in the future during the second Back to the Future movie. According to the movie, we should have all sorts of goodies like Mr. Fusion, food pellets, self-drying clothes, and hoverboards.

Wildcard Wednesday: Harry’s Birthday Cake

Every year for Harry’s birthday, my local Harry Potter group throws a birthday party. And every year, Miriah makes an impressively magical cake. This year, she went traditional. In addition to butterbeer cake pops, she made this great, movie-canon cake:

The hardest part was lighting it. It took five of us to block the wind long enough to get the candles all lit. Another breeze came up just as we were finishing singing the Harry Birthday song, so we stood back and let “Harry” blow the candles out on his own.

But, just as we moved in to cut the cake, most of the candles magically relit themselves! It took a few more breezes for the candles to finally go out completely.

Then, of course, came the eating of it 🙂

Made it Monday: Harry’s Birthday Party

This is a group of items for a “Harry Potter Birthday” celebration swap. Sort of a party-in-a-box kind of thing. I had a lot of fun coming up with a mix of items for a party and things that Harry would enjoy at one of his birthday parties. Click for larger pictures.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day from this fangirl! 🙂 I hope you have a good one.

Not sure who to credit this to, as I found it on Tumblr uncredited. But whoever made it is brilliant.

Day 12: Christmas Pooh Bear

Ornament13

I saw this lovely metalic Christmas Pooh in CVS a few years ago while walking around after getting my Flu shot. I couldn’t resist splurging on it. I love the bits of soft “fur” on his hat, scarf, and gloves. And he has a charming little face.
