12 Days of Fandom Ornaments: #10

My Christmas tree is a mix of ornaments from my childhood and ones from later on in my life. Many of them are related to my favorite fandoms, naturally. I thought I would showcase one every other day in December in a 12 Days of Fandom Ornaments series.

Day 10: A Doctor With Attitude

Ornament16

This was made for me in a swap-bot swap. I believe it’s taken from one of the recent comics. It was created in shrinky-dink style, so it have lovely detail and color. It also looks great when it has light behind it, as it’s somewhat translucent.

Day 9: Be Mine

Ornament21-03

These were also made for me in a swap. Sherlock Holmes has a thing for bees, so this Sherlock!bee and Watson!bee are one-of-a-kind. Sherlock!bee has on his blue scarf, while Watson!bee has his cane and some toast with jam! The hangers are both ribbons with bees on them as well. They’re absolutely adorable!

Made for me for a swap, this features Marvel comics, especially one of my favorite characters: Wolverine. It, also, looks fantastic when backlit. I love that each side is a continuation of the panels, like it’s a complete picture.

Day 7: On the Nose

Ornament18

While not explicitly fandomy, I bought this as my annual ornament the year The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe hit theaters. I bought this guy because he was incredibly adorable, and because he reminded me of Mr. & Mrs. Beaver.

Yes, I’m a fan of hockey! So here’s one for my favorite team that I got from my parents years ago when they had a different team logo.

Day 4: Off to See the Wizard

Ornament19

I bought this one at a thrift shop. It’s very heavy, so I have to use branches to prop it up. But I like the look of the wizard here from the Wizard of Oz, especially that his balloon is there and the ribbon on his hat his green.

Top Ten: A Fandom Present Wishlist

With the holidays approaching, I thought it was time for another themed list. Here are my fandom-related requests, most of which are not available in stores, so it’s definitely up to Santa to make some of these happen for me.

Day 3:

Ornament15

Putting these two ornaments together like this is as close as I come to having something directly related to Highlander: the series on my tree. The Eiffel Tower represents Paris and, of course, the big season 3 finale. And speaking of big, the blue word is a nod to the blue lightning of the quickening. And the word itself is Peace, a nod to Adrian Paul’s charity. So, all put together, this makes me think of my favorite fandom. But I will admit it’s a bit of a stretch.

Day 2: A House Full of Black Santas

Ornament14

I bought this little guy shortly after reading Paper Towns by John Green. I figured that my tree could not possibly be complete without a black Santa. Maybe it’s even similar to one of the 12,000 black Santas mentioned in the book?
