Another Star Trek craft this week. For a swap, we were tasked in making stuffies of Star Trek characters in the style of marshmallow peeps. I am not a sewer, but I gave it a shot and ended up making two.

More photos, including close-ups, below…
In honor of Captain Picard Day yesterday, I thought this was the time for my favorite episodes of the show that, at an early age, threw me into the great fandom that is Star Trek.
When trying to draw up the list, I couldn’t come up with just 10. I couldn’t. And I just started rewatching the series, so now I’m not even that objective (in fact, I’m watching one of the ones on this list right now). And, so…
Quiz: Which Star Trek Captain Are You?
Answer: Jean-Luc Picard
Your sense of right and wrong are second to none, and while your intelligence can be a little… rarefied, you do know how to have fun. (Reading 16th century British poetry is totally fun.)

Thoughts: No kidding! Ha! Well, that was a surprise. But he’s my favorite captain, so I’ll take it… and read a book tonight 🙂

Quiz: Which Star Trek Character Are You?
Answer: Nurse Chapel
You are Nurse Chapel. You are very soft-hearted and need to protect yourself from hurt. You are not very lucky in relationships, perhaps because you choose cold and unemotional people as mates. You are very caring, though, and should probably choose a career in therapy or medicine. You are attracted to intelligence, but don’t let yourself be led around by those you consider your superiors. You have many of your own resources to rely on, and will be very successful if you can stand up for yourself and have pride in your abilities.
Thoughts: Actually, this is pretty darn accurate, even if I did answer the one about Scotland being the best country ever 😉
As I seem to be in a Star Trek mood during this part of the month… I might as well take advantage of that with my craft posts (I think I missed the last scheduled one; oops!)
Here are some Star Trek ornaments I made last year for a swap. My partner said she liked The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine the best, so I made ornaments inspired by com communicator badges from both those series.
One is a stuffie, made of felt, the other made of sparkly pipe cleaners.

Quiz: Which Batman Ally Are You?
Thoughts: At first I didn’t see the resemblance and was ready to protest. But once I read the description, it’s actually not too bad of a fit. I rather like this result. I still think I’d make a better Alfred though 😉
My friends IRL know that I’m a crier. I cry not just at sad movies but at their movie trailers before the sad movies are even out.
There are also some fandom songs I cannot listen to without at least tearing up. I learned the hard way that I had to uncheck these songs in iTunes at work (I’ve had coworkers walk in on me as I was bawling) and I cannot listen to them while driving (twice I’ve had to pull over to the side of the road because I was crying too hard to drive/see). But these are also songs I love so very dearly. In fact, it was easy to come up with this list in just a few minutes because some of these are among my favorite fandom songs ever written. I just… can’t listen to them while driving.
Note: There’s a MoM song that belongs on this list, but given the recent… yeah… I’m choosing to leave that song off. That’s all right. There are enough Snidget songs to make up the difference 😉
Additional Note/Warning: Massive spoilers for Harry Potter, Supernatural through season 7, His Dark Materials series, Torchwood Children of Earth, and the first Hunger Games novel/movie
When I went over to my parents’ house the other day, I found the Pound Puppy candles I mentioned in this post.
Poor things are all melty and sad-looking, but I still love ’em!
