Fandom Spotlight Day 5: Charmed

For the month of April, I’m breaking out of my usual “format” and showcasing one of my favorite fandoms a day, so I will have shiny things to make me smile every day of my birthday month. When I sat down to write the list of my top 30 fandoms, I found the task terribly hard. How do I choose just 30? My apologies to all my beloved fandoms left off the list. I’m using random.org to determine what fandom gets what day.

Favorite Episode: Y Tu Mummy También because Adrian Paul. And super-angsty!Cole.

Favorite Moment: the end of “Long Live the Queen” because hugging.

How I Got Into It: I’m not entirely sure. If I had to guess, it was during the phase in grad school where I would be up all night and go to sleep in the late morning with TNT on. They were showing the first few seasons in syndication, so I watched it when it started from the beginning and then watched all the other seasons on the WB when they aired. I like magic. And I liked the dynamics of the show. Cole and Leo were not hard on the eyes either.

Fangirl Intensity (scale of 1 to 10 with 10=full-out obsessed): 5

How I Fangirl: I’ve made some crafts and written a few fics, though most of those were gift request fills. I’ve seen every episode at least twice, but due to TNT scheduling there are dozens of episodes I’ve seen more than 20 times. I’ve been working my way through an incomplete set of tie-in novels (I’m sure one or two will be books of the month on this blog in the future).

Weirdest Merch I Own: a giant green paperclip with a picture of Piper on foam at the end of it. I don’t even know, but I like it *G*

Favorite Fandom Creation: All the great fanmade Book of Shadows pages out there.

Why I’m Glad I Fangirl It: I don’t actually know… I just find the show fun and charming (sorry about the pun). It doesn’t hurt that there’s magic and drama and cute guys though. I really like the storylines and I always root for the sisters to have happy endings and cried when the show did things that shocked me. I thought the second-to-last season would have been a good stopping point, but the last episode was epic and left me with no doubts as to why I loved the show for so long.
