License Plate: MR10 KRT

I was always terrible at car/driving video games. Still, I’ve got to love this one. How perfect for a license plate!

MR10 KRT

Please note that I did not throw any barrels at the car or try to pass it.

Quiz: Which Star Trek Character Are You?

Quiz: Which Star Trek Character Are You?

Answer: Nurse Chapel
You are Nurse Chapel. You are very soft-hearted and need to protect yourself from hurt. You are not very lucky in relationships, perhaps because you choose cold and unemotional people as mates. You are very caring, though, and should probably choose a career in therapy or medicine. You are attracted to intelligence, but don’t let yourself be led around by those you consider your superiors. You have many of your own resources to rely on, and will be very successful if you can stand up for yourself and have pride in your abilities.

Thoughts: Actually, this is pretty darn accurate, even if I did answer the one about Scotland being the best country ever šŸ˜‰

Craft: Star Trek Ornaments

As I seem to be in a Star Trek mood during this part of the month… I might as well take advantage of that with my craft posts (I think I missed the last scheduled one; oops!)

StarTrekOrnaments1

Here are some Star Trek ornaments I made last year for a swap. My partner said she liked The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine the best, so I made ornaments inspired by com communicator badges from both those series.

One is a stuffie, made of felt, the other made of sparkly pipe cleaners.

Top Ten: Online Games (Part 1)

I learned (the hard way) that I have to limit my computer game play… or it consumes my life. So I tend to only play online computer games that are somewhat short, so I can walk away at any time. Except that I don’t walk away… I play for hours.

Recent Marathons (More 50-Word Reviews)

Batman_Beyond

Batman Beyond: Loved the Neo-Gotham future setting and what has happened to Bruce over the years. I liked how Terry slowly found his way into the role. I liked how the various players like Barbara and the Jokerz (plural) show up. Really liked Bruce’s role, coaching and understanding from afar.

longmire

Longmire (Season 2): It’s been a while since I saw Season 1, but I fell right back into it without problem. Love the acting; I watch for the characters and unique cases. Great drama and angsty storylines definitely kept my attention this time around. Definitely looking forward to Season 3.

ultimatespiderman

Ultimate Spider-Man: I’ve always liked Spider-Man, but this month I fell in love with him. This series skewed a little young, but I still enjoyed it. Breaking the 4th wall let Peter’s character shine through. I adored getting to know his team. And I can always use more Agent Coulson.

beautybeast

Beauty & the Beast (Season 1): Interesting modern twists. I enjoyed the protected identity aspect, but the love/passion angle got tiresome. I got a kick out of it when the plotline forced Vincent (the beast) underground into tunnels. I couldn’t take my eyes off Catherine in every scene; she’s gorgeous.

psych

Psych (Season 7): I’ve been waiting forever to get caught up on Psych. The season was highly enjoyable, though it started off surprisingly rocky and tough for my favorite pairings. A great series of cases with plenty of great cultural references thrown in, including Highlander! The musical episode was epic.

a-young-doctor-nootebok

A Young Doctor’s Notebook and Other Stories: How did I not know this series existed? Between Daniel Radcliffe as the young doctor and Jon Hamm as the older version, there’s fantastic acting talent. Shocking but well-done humor and drama in these stories set around the time of the Russian Revolution.

derek

Derek: At times, I wasn’t sure how to feel about this series. I can’t help but love Derek as a character, though Ricky’s choice to portray him is interesting. Some of the other characters are harder to love, but even they have their moments. It was worth giving a try.

Young_Justice

Young Justice: I am a Marvel girl and know nothing of the Justice league, let alone this spin-off band. But a group of ā€œsidekicksā€ kicking butt? Irresistible! I love that they all had secrets and problems but functioned as a great team, though reluctantly at times… and luctantly at others.

Quiz: Which Batman Ally Are You?

Quiz: Which Batman Ally Are You?

Answer:
Batgirl

Thoughts: At first I didn’t see the resemblance and was ready to protest. But once I read the description, it’s actually not too bad of a fit. I rather like this result. I still think I’d make a better Alfred though šŸ˜‰

Top Ten: Fandom Songs I Can’t Listen To in the Car

My friends IRL know that I’m a crier. I cry not just at sad movies but at their movie trailers before the sad movies are even out.

There are also some fandom songs I cannot listen to without at least tearing up. I learned the hard way that I had to uncheck these songs in iTunes at work (I’ve had coworkers walk in on me as I was bawling) and I cannot listen to them while driving (twice I’ve had to pull over to the side of the road because I was crying too hard to drive/see). But these are also songs I love so very dearly. In fact, it was easy to come up with this list in just a few minutes because some of these are among my favorite fandom songs ever written. I just… can’t listen to them while driving.

Note: There’s a MoM song that belongs on this list, but given the recent… yeah… I’m choosing to leave that song off. That’s all right. There are enough Snidget songs to make up the difference šŸ˜‰

Additional Note/Warning: Massive spoilers for Harry Potter, Supernatural through season 7, His Dark Materials series, Torchwood Children of Earth, and the first Hunger Games novel/movie

Candles From My Past

When I went over to my parents’ house the other day, I found the Pound Puppy candles I mentioned in this post.

Poor things are all melty and sad-looking, but I still love ’em!

Quiz: Which Monty Python And The Holy Grail Character Are You?

Random quiz turned up in my search engine. Thought it would be fun.

Quiz: Which Monty Python And The Holy Grail Character Are You?

Answer: imlancelot
“You’re Sir Lancelot the Brave: you’re definitely brave alright, perhaps a bit too brave in some circumstances (large, festive gatherings come to mind), but you’re always in your own idiom.”

Thoughts: Wait, what? I’m absolutely not brave! Also, I’m not as clueless as Lancelot is at times in this particular movie. Is this because I chose “Eye of the Tiger” for a song? Because I think we all know why I chose that song…
