I just finished filling out all the rounds & bonus round of the Harry Potter Trivia Tournament. I apparently got one wrong (grrr! Silly me thinking that 25 days was three weeks instead of 4 weeks… I’m too literal, apparently. So I’m not going to win… but it was so much fun to answer the questions. There were some easy ones (given that I have passages of the book memorized) and there were some hard ones (given that my memory SUCKS).

My friends IRL know that I’m a crier. I cry not just at sad movies but at their movie trailers before the sad movies are even out.
There are also some fandom songs I cannot listen to without at least tearing up. I learned the hard way that I had to uncheck these songs in iTunes at work (I’ve had coworkers walk in on me as I was bawling) and I cannot listen to them while driving (twice I’ve had to pull over to the side of the road because I was crying too hard to drive/see). But these are also songs I love so very dearly. In fact, it was easy to come up with this list in just a few minutes because some of these are among my favorite fandom songs ever written. I just… can’t listen to them while driving.
Note: There’s a MoM song that belongs on this list, but given the recent… yeah… I’m choosing to leave that song off. That’s all right. There are enough Snidget songs to make up the difference š

Thoughts: I’m not entirely sure why I bothered filling this out, because I know I’m a big fan and it only makes me sad that I can’t check every box on this list. I WAS especially thrilled to be able to check off EVERYTHING from 67-71. I love that I’ve been able to visit all those places. It was a little sad that I got into HP as an adult so I couldn’t check off a short series about growing up with the books. But I made up for that in other places.

For the month of April, I’m breaking out of my usual “format” and showcasing one of my favorite fandoms a day, so I will have shiny things to make me smile every day of my birthday month. When I sat down to write the list of my top 30 fandoms, I found the task terribly hard. How do I choose just 30? My apologies to all my beloved fandoms left off the list. Iām using random.org to determine what fandom gets what day.

Okay, not really a top ten… just a selection of ten favorites from my button/pin collection (which I keep in an old shortbread tin shaped like a kilt that sits on the pass-through from my kitchen to living room/dining area… which is possibly not where most people keep their collections of buttons/pins, now that I think about it). Note to self: do more top ten lists this way.

Yes, I write a lot of fanfiction. I thought a list of some terrible pairings would make a good post-Valentine’s Day post topic.
I have my OTPs and I respect most canon pairings, especially in the Harry Potter books. Usually whatever pairing I see first, I fall for and I can’t be moved from it. But sometimes through challenges or really messed up muses, I end up writing pairings I’d never expected to write. And now, for your amusement at my shame, I must confess to having written these. My apologies if you ship any of these.

I couldn’t help but notice this car during my quick drive home yesterday during the day, and it reminded me that I wanted to start posting the fandom-related license plates I come across in my travels.
Gotta hand it to these people; they’re brave to admit it!
