For the month of April, I’m breaking out of my usual “format” and showcasing one of my favorite fandoms a day, so I will have shiny things to make me smile every day of my birthday month. When I sat down to write the list of my top 30 fandoms, I found the task terribly hard. How do I choose just 30? My apologies to all my beloved fandoms left off the list. Iām using random.org to determine what fandom gets what day.
Favorite Quote: “But lonely, lost girls like us can rescue themselves. You are standing on the edge of greatness.” ~Snow White
Favorite Moment: Virginia staying to help Wolf when he’s on trial
How I Got Into It: I’m pretty sure my little sister saw this on NBC when it aired, taped it, and then we watched it when I came home from college. She thought I’d love it. I totally did.
Fangirl Intensity (scale of 1 to 10 with 10=full-out obsessed): 8
How I Fangirl: I watch it repeatedly. I have the soundtrack and novel adaptation. I was on a few discussion groups, but one went under and I finally managed to give up on the other (I had joined it to get news about a possible sequel and to hear people’s thoughts on the miniseries, but it was killing my sanity). I also made a fan website about the miniseries, made icons and wallpapers and all that.
Favorite Fandom Creation: This Kiss Music Video. I don’t know who originally made this video, but I watch it all the time.
Why I’m Glad I Fangirl It: Once again, the story starts in my world and takes me into a magical one; I don’t think I’ll ever be too old to love that kind of fantasy journey. Simon’s story is incredible. Mixing the modern world with fairy tales in this way was clever, creative, and inspired. Every character is magical and wonderful. It really teaches me what good writing is, because I fall in love with each character over and over again with every watching. Thank goodness the miniseries is long, because once I start watching it again, I never want it to end. And that’s what good writing and acting is to me. Now I just want to find a Wolf of my own š
