For the month of April, I’m breaking out of my usual “format” and showcasing one of my favorite fandoms a day, so I will have shiny things to make me smile every day of my birthday month. When I sat down to write the list of my top 30 fandoms, I found the task terribly hard. How do I choose just 30? My apologies to all my beloved fandoms left off the list. I’m using random.org to determine what fandom gets what day.
Merlin

Favorite Moment: Hmm. I think I kind of like Merlin and Arthur meeting for the first time.
How I Got Into It: Like other fandoms, I saw that the slashers were all over this show, so I jumped into it as well. I loved the kind of campy/exaggerated style of the show, but also the interesting spin on the characters.
Fangirl Intensity (scale of 1 to 10 with 10=full-out obsessed): 5
How I Fangirl: I’ve written and read a lot of fanfic. This was one of the first shows I ever marathoned online, going through a whole season all at once and feeling all the feels.
Weirdest Merch I Own: Nothing much, just some tie-in novels I haven’t read yet. Oh, wait, I totally bought “You’re the Voice” on iTunes because of this show. LOL!
Favorite Fandom Creation: GlimmerGirl’s modern day academic AU Merlin/Arthur fics
Why I’m Glad I Fangirl It: Aw, boys. Merlin & Arthur have a great dynamic on the show. Theirs is an amusing and dramatic game to watch. I do like the cast as a whole, though. And I will never say no to some good Anthony Stewart Head moments!
