Here’s an ATC I made of Dawn from Buffy the vampire slayer.

Top Ten Random Fanfic Fandoms

I’ve written a whole lot of fanfic over the years. Here are the top ten obscure fandoms in which I’ve written fanfic. In fact, for each of these, I’ve only written one fanfic (and will never write another, in most cases)

Quiz: What 1960s TV Girl are you?

Quiz: What 1960s TV Girl are you?

Answer: Julia Baker, Julia
Julia

Thoughts: I’ve maybe seen one or two episodes of Julia, so I’m not sure how accurate this is. But I love family and I like the caregiver-ness. And, hey, it’s nice to be groundbreaking! 🙂

Top Ten: Fandoms on My Bookcase

FandomBookcase I have the best parents and friends in the world.

My parents worked their butts off for months and now I have a beautiful new floor in my basement. This means I could finally start moving all my bookcases and books from my parents’ house to my new home library.

Three of my best friends came over this past weekend to help me catalog my enormous Mt. To Be Read and to start sorting through my books. The good news is that I now have more than 7 boxes of books I’m giving away or BookCrossing. The less good news… I have to fit the other 63 boxes of books on my bookcases somehow (and that doesn’t include a few crates of audiobooks). The only two bookcases completely done at this point are, as you might have guessed, my fandom bookcase and my graphic novel/manga bookcase.

Of course, I have many of the fandoms you might expect on my fandom bookcase: Harry Potter*, Lord of the Rings*, Buffy & Angel, Star Wars, Star Trek*, Doctor Who, etc. But here’s a list of a few fandoms you might not expect to see represented on my fandom bookcase.

* Not all of the books in these fandoms fit on the fandom bookcase and had to spill out into other bookcases such as the series bookcase or one of my TBR bookcases.

Top Ten: Characters I Sort Into Hufflepuff

hufflepuff_crestPeople who know me know I like to sort people I meet into Hogwarts Houses. I can’t do it with all people, but some people give off pretty strong indicators. I do the same thing with fictional characters.

I thought it would be fun to come up with 10 characters I sort into particular houses. And, as I’m a Hufflepuff, I thought I’d start with my favorite house. I thus give you ten characters I usually sort into Hufflepuff:

Top Ten: Fandoms I’m Behind On

Sometimes things happen that make me put shows I love on hold. This could happen due to my DVR eating episodes and I don’t realize it until I try to start watching, or because I just lose interest. I fully intend to get back to all of these one day.

Quiz: Which Outlander Character Are You?

Quiz: Which Outlander Character Are You?

Answer: Gellis Duncan
GellisDuncan
Beautiful, with bright green eyes that span the centuries of her offspring, Gellis is a time traveler, intent of aiding Bonnie Prince Charlie in the rising of 1745, She uses herbs to aid and injure; manipulating circumstances to her advantage, always. She befriends Clarie to learn more about her, yet provides an ill wish when asked. She is only concerned with herself.

Thoughts: Oh really? I wouldn’t know how to manipulate circumstances to my advantage if my life depended on it! And self-centered, she is! And crafty! Okay, yes, I’d probably be a Jacobite supporter and it would be neat to be a time traveler, especially one with some magic on my side. But I hope that there are more ways I’m different from Gellis than ways we are the same.

This was a strange quiz. Not too many choices, some of which were terribly obvious, and a few strange questions. The last question, especially, was strange/wrong.

What character am I like? Ian Alastair Robert MacLeod Murray (senior). I always identified with Ian.

Craft: Sherlock Stuffie

My swap partner in a Sherlock swap mentioned liking stuffies. And I was getting a little tired of making Sirius stuffies and Baskerville hound stuffies. I thought to make this into a stuffie a while back, but never had a reason. This was it!

Thus, I made a Moriarty apple stuffie:

I feel like the letters are a little more squished than they should be, but otherwise it came out rather nicely and it was fun to make!

Top Ten: Fandom Creations at Brickfair

Okay, once again I fail at a Top Ten list and had to go Top Fifteen. I don’t see anyone complaining. There is so much fannish goodness that comes out of somewhere like a LEGO fan convention and so much creativity. I couldn’t help but admire more than just ten! Despite being numbered, these are really in no particular order. Click on the photos for bigger versions, please! These previews are somewhat blurry and don’t do them justice. Seriously, click on them for a proper look. Trust me. Also, the titles are my own in most but not all cases, because I have to call them something and not all the MOC cards came out in my photos.

Top Ten: Things I Liked About Outlander

I was honestly not all that excited about the new Starz Outlander series. It was really neat that one of my favorite book series was being turned into a series finally. And the trailer looked good, but no one and nothing matched my mental images (and having read the first few books of the series more than a handful of times each, I have some strong mental images). So I really couldn’t get excited about it. Plus, I don’t have Starz or the money to subscribe to a premium channel, so even if I loved it, I would have to wait to watch it. Luck, however, was on my side and I was able to watch the first episode this weekend. And… so…
