For the month of April, I’m breaking out of my usual “format” and showcasing one of my favorite fandoms a day, so I will have shiny things to make me smile every day of my birthday month. When I sat down to write the list of my top 30 fandoms, I found the task terribly hard. How do I choose just 30? My apologies to all my beloved fandoms left off the list. I’m using random.org to determine what fandom gets what day.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Favorite Quote: Norrington: You are without doubt the worst pirate I’ve ever heard of.

Favorite Movie: Black Pearl
How I Got Into It: A Lord of the Ring fangirl carryover, I had to see this because Orlando Bloom was in it. The Disneyland ride was one of my favorites, though, so I might still have gone… I just probably wouldn’t have seen it multiple times in the theater.
Fangirl Intensity (scale of 1 to 10 with 10=full-out obsessed): 4
How I Fangirl: I own all the LEGO sets. That’s right, all of them. I still haven’t even seen the last movie, but I own the LEGO sets! I’ve written some fanfic. I’ve made crafts.
Weirdest Merch I Own: Pirates of the Caribbean Pez
Favorite Fandom Creation: I don’t have a photo of it, but someone in my neighborhood used to have a black car with a license plate that was something like CPT SPRW. Brilliant.
Why I’m Glad I Fangirl It: There’s something magical about the first movie that I keep wanting to get back whenever I watch the later movies, but just can’t find. The characters are wonderful creations (especially Captain Jack Sparrow) and they work together so perfectly in the first movie. I really enjoy the trip the movies take me on, if that makes any sense.
